I am Dr Mya Win from Burma. I am a primary care physician and general practitioner. As a family doctor, I have to treat not only chronic non-communicable diseases but also infectious diseases such as STDS,Hepatitis A,B,C and HIV/AIDS patients. In our country, there is only a public hospital for HIV/AIDS patients and it is not easily accessable. patients have to pay money to get treatment from hospitals. Most of the patients cannot afford to take medicine of Antiretroviral therapy. Therefore , patients with HIV/AIDS in Burma die without care. Most of them get treatment from indigenous medicine
ReplyDeleteand alternative medicine. If we are competent and we have good knoledge about HIV, We can take care of them very well.If patients can afford, we can save their lives by giving ARV and if they cannot afford, we can take care of them by giving pilliative and conservative treament. So,general practitioners should try hard to have good knowledge and experiences about HIV/AIDS.
